Hearts striker Kwame Kizito admits he was wasteful against Berekum Chelsea during their 3-2 win last Sunday.

The lanky attacker had a terrible day, missing several goal scoring opportunities as the Phobians edged past their opponent in the capital.

And he admits he was profligate in front of goal.

“I will say it was hard luck for me because I had the chances to score but I missed those chances,” he told the club’s official audio boom

“We were under pressure too and we wanted to score so we were all in a hurry to score and when we got to the box we could not exercise patience because we all wanted to score. We all wanted to score for us to win the game. I personally had the chances to score but I missed them. I am sorry for missing the chances because we needed the three points and so we were in a hurry to score.

“I promise the supporters and all the fans that when I get those chances again, I will never miss those chances and so they must not be angry with me. That is football – anything can happen; you can miss, you can score. I am not happy with myself for missing those chances. I am going to correct my mistakes and work on my goal-scoring chances.

“I thank God that we won the match by 3 goals to 2 even though I could not score. I am happy we won but I am not happy with myself. I am very happy for the team, I am happy for the players, but I am not happy with myself for missing those chances. I promise the supporters that whatever I have missed this season, I promise them next season, if God willing next season, I will surprise them and they should keep on supporting Accra Hearts of Oak – we will not let them down.

He added: "This season is not a good season for us; it is a bad season. But I will give thanks to God, He knows best and He knows why all these things are happening to us. We are still praying that everything will be ok for us and work out for us. I really thank all the supporters and all my colleagues for not letting me down even though I missed all the chances; they kept supporting me and reminded me that it is part of football so I should forget about it. I promise that I will work on my goal scoring and everything. ”
