Hearts striker Mahatma Otoo joins Hapoel Tel Aviv

Posted On Sunday, 11th July 2010

Ghana starlet Mahatma Otoo has agreed to join Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv for two years in a deal reported to be worth US$ 550,000.

The Hearts of Oak forward scored 10 goals for his local side Hearts of Oak last term.

“I can confirm that I’m leaving for Israel but what I can’t say is whether I will leave before the Under-20 qualifier or after,” the 18-year-old told Ghanasoccernet.com

Otoo was named as the best player in the 2009/10 Ghana Premier League.

Otoo is a member of Ghana’s Under-20 team preparing for the 2011 African Youth Championship qualifier against Namibia on 25 July.

This guy is a talented striker, infact i have watched him play several times for Hearts Of Oak alongside his strike partner Samuel Affum and i tell you what he is a very good striker. He has the strength, power, technique, can go pass his maker with Chicky ease and can also shoot from long distance as well.He is young has a lot of yrs ahead of him,he is going a future prospect for GH among other players in some few yrs to come if only we can handle such resources very well .But i wonder whether he is really 18 yrs?Hmmmmmm time will surely tell!

  10. keith from germany says:

im not his father so i cant tell his real age,but i have my doubt.18years??hmmmm.
i heard he plays like wayne rooney.good luck bro cuz hapoel will be playing champions league football this year or europa league.wishing u the best of luck.
ps:wat is wrong with the 550,000$?do u kno the meaning of this amount.if u guy dont kno let me tell u,ali sissoko of olympique lyon was bought by fc porto from sporting braga for 300,000€ and fc porto later sold him for 15 million € to lyon.
german relegated team vfl bochum just bought nord koreas star striker tea-jong for 250,000€ which is peanuts compared to mahatma otoo’s amonut.
it pays to start slowly so that u make it big time .

Ghanaian players are just wasting their talents in the exodus band wagon. Their families always go for money rather than talent.
