Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo has blasted his defenders for conceding a late goal to lose 2-1 to Asante Kotoko in the big Ghanaian derby on Sunday.
The 20-year-old came on as a second half substitute to pull the Phobians even by converting a master free kick in added time in the game which appeared destined for a draw.
But the Premier League leaders responded immediately through a wonderful 30-yard strike by Michael Akuffo to win the day.
And Otoo says his colleagues especially in defence were so consumed in the goal celebrations that they went to 'sleep', forgetting there was a minute or so left to play.
"We came from Accra to play Asante Kotoko expecting to win," he said.
"In football there are three things; a win, draw and loss and win and we lost the game.
"At a point in time my defenders went to sleep because you could see immediately after equalizing the goal my defenders and midfielders went to sleep and they (Kotoko) were able to capitalize on it."
Otoo however adds his side will continue to fight for the league title despite falling a staggering 13-point behind their rivals with just six games to go.
"In football, everything is possible, there is nothing like impossible in football so we will continue to strive on and see what happens at the end of the season."
