The National Chapters Organizer of Hearts of Oak Paa Kofi Sunsum has insisted that Asante Kotoko begged AshantiGold to drop their protest to save them.from going to relegation after realizing they wrongfully fielded Obed Owusu in their league clash.

AshantiGold earlier protested the use of Obed Owusu in their game with Kotoko for yellow card accumulation but they later withdrew it.

But Hearts filed theirs and were successful.

Sunsum feels it is very worrying for the management and board of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who are learned to stoop so low to commit such a managerial blunder for Hearts of Oak to protest against them for using a player with four accumulated yellow cards.

"If truly AshantiGold had a case, why didn't they wait for the ruling before withdrawing ? They (Kotoko) begged Ashgold that if points are deducted from them, they will be relegated so they should withdraw the case."

Sunsum added that any club that flouts the rules of game should be penalized without discrimination.

"You can only be safe when the club you played against did not see those short falls but if the club finds out, then the law will work,"

He claims Kotoko were aware that before their match against AshantiGold Obed Owusu had four yellow cards and should not have used him.

"The player had four yellow cards which you claimed served his suspension in the Elite Cup which is just a mere friendly match and that no player serves his suspension in a friendly game", Sunsum retorted.
