Heracles Almelo manager Jong de Jonge has praised Ghana striker Matthew Amoah for his match-winning goal in their Eredivisie victory over NEC Nimegen on Saturday.

The 33-year-old climbed off the Heracles bench in the 52nd minute and struck the match-winner deep in second-half added-time to propel them to a crucial win.

"It was a good goal and crucial win for the team. We are very happy for this victory and very good for Amoah," he said.

It was just Amoah's second goal of the season but his 7th goal in 11 games against NEC Nimegen in the Dutch top-flight.
