Ghanaian youngster Hiram Boateng was amongst the goals as Plymouth Argyle smashed Forest Green 5-3 just days before the start of the season.

The League Two side however needed to fight from a sensation 3-0 down to secure the massive win on Saturday.

Rovers captain-elect Darren Jones, Elliott Frear and a Jon Parkin penalty saw the Nailsworth side race into a 3-0 lead just inside 32 minutes, but Argyle, beaten in the League Two play-offs last season, clawed their way back to post a 5-3 victory.

Hiram Boateng who is on loan from Crystal Palace drew his side level in the 54th minute after smashing in a Wylde pulled back before Jervis and Graham Carey scored to complete a sweet comeback.

The match on Saturday was the final for Plymouth before they open their League Two account on Saturday away to AFC Wimbledon.
