Rumour: Goalkeeper Adams in Ghana's 30-man World Cup squad, Kingson axed

Aduana Stars shot-stopper Stephen Adams is in a provisional 30-man squad drafted by Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but the experienced Richard Kingson has been left out, rumours circling Ghana football circles claim.

According to the rumour, the Ghana head coach has overlooked the Turkish-based glovesman to favour Adams who excelled at the 2014 CHAN Championship in South Africa.

Kingson has been trying to work his way back to the Ghana squad thus leaving from Cypriot side Doxa to join Turkish second-tier side Balikesirspor but his effort has not proven good enough to impress the Ghana coach.

Stromsgodset captain Adam Kwarasey's display against Montenegro in the international friendly earlier this month has installed confidence around him and has been picked along with recent first-choice Fatau Dauda.

Despite being inactive in the South African PSL with Orlando Pirates, Kwesi Appiah has settled on the 28-year-old together with Free State Stars' Daniel Agyei to complete a quartet for the provisional squad.

But one of the keepers will be dropped as there are only three slots available.
