Home of Western Regional Sports Development Officer razed down by fire

The home of Western Regional Sports Development Officer Breseford Amui has been razed down by fire, just hours after making damning revelation about the poor management of state-owned stadias.

The house has been completely razed down as fire fighters struggled to put off the burning flame.

Amui’s residence which is located at the residential Ridge area in Sekondi is a three-bedroom apartment.

The administrative official has dominated the major headlines with claims the Essipong stadium is best suited for theatre rather than football due to lack of funds accrued from gate proceeds.

The outspoken official says the low income garnered from gate proceeds during league matches is making it increasingly difficult to maintain the edifice.

The 20-seater stadium built as one of the new venues during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, has become a monstrosity as it finds itself in a deplorable state.

The situation which is not peculiar to the Essipong stadium has again brought to the limelight the country’s poor maintenance culture forcing the administrative officer to offer a better use of the edifice.
