When you're football crazy, there's no getting away from the Bundesliga – or even Bundesliga 2 – as Romelu Lukaku has confessed he and Thierry Henry are Fortuna Düsseldorf followers.

Manchester United's star striker Lukaku is currently representing Belgium at the World Cup, but before his attention turned to that particular competition, he would spend hours on end with another English Premier League legend – Thierry Henry – discussing, among other things, the formation of Düsseldorf.

Don't believe us? Allow Lukaku to explain…

"Thierry might be the only guy in the world who watches more football than me," he told The Players' Tribune. "We debate everything. We’re sitting around and having debates about German second division football.

"I'm like, 'Thierry, have you seen the Fortuna Düsseldorf setup, though?' He’s like, 'Don’t be silly. Yes, of course.' That’s the coolest thing in the world, to me." I’m not talking about the Premier League. Not Manchester United. Not the Champions League. Not the World Cups.

Lukaku and Henry – who is sharpening the United forward's eye for goal as Belgium's assistant coach – will be able to keep even closer tabs on Fortuna's fortunes next season, with the North Rhine-Westphalian club promoted to the top flight as Bundesliga 2 champions last season.

By the way, for those – few – of you who don't share a similar knowledge to Lukaku and Henry, Fortuna coach Friedhelm Funkel favours a 4-4-1-1 formation.
