Ghana defender John Boye has regained full fitness and set to make a return to top-tier football after being named in Rennesââ¬â¢ 18-man squad to face Ajaccioà on Saturday.
The centre-back has been battling injuries since September last year after captaining Ghana in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Japan.
He picked up a hip injury but revisited the treatment room due to a groin setback.
Coach Philippe Montanier is satisfied with Boyeââ¬â¢s recovery and is ready to hand him game time at the Stade François Coty.
Boye proved his fitness when he played full throttle for the Rennesââ¬â¢ reserve side in their 2-1 win over Guimgamp.
He missed Ghanaââ¬â¢s two-legged 2014 World Cup playoff against Egypt in October and November.
Boyeââ¬â¢s return will be a massive boost for Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of naming his World Cup squad in three months time.
