English Championship side Hull City are leading the race to sign Ghana winger Albert Adomah from rivals Middlesbrough, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Tigers have now set their sights on the Black Stars winger, 27, who has handed in a transfer request after falling out with manager Aitor Karanka.

Karanka has left out Adomah from his squad to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday as the player's departure looms even more imminently close.

The Spaniard left out of the starting lineup in last weekend’s defeat to his former club Bristol City. Adomah did not feature in the 18-man squad who defeated Burton Albion in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday after a meeting with club officials the previous day.

Adomah was one of Middlesbrough's star players in last season's campaign and Karanka was hoping to count on the former Bristol City player to secure promotion to the English top-flight.
