New Inter Allies signing Isaac Twum says he snubbed Asante Kotoko over fears his development will be curtailed at the Ghanaian giants.

Twum, 17, was wanted by Kotoko but he eventually signed a contract to join Inter Allies.

The former Ghaan U17 star is touted as one of the best emerging talents in the Ghanaian top flight.

He however couldn’t help Heart of Lions escape relegation last season and had to move on.

Even though Kotoko were said to have tabled a much more lucrative offer, the talented midfielder decided to join Inter Allies who only gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago.

He reveals his decision to snub a move to Kotoko was to avoid a stagnation of his development with the constant high expectations at the Kumasi-based club.

“As a young player, going to Kotoko would have been a big challenge for me with the expectations there,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I felt I wouldn’t be given the time and patience needed to develop.

“At Kotoko, there is always the demand for players to be at their best but I am still maturing and playing regularly is what I need to keep developing even when the performance is not the best.

“So my move to Inter Allies what to ensure I continued to develop and hopefully mature as quickly as possible.”

Twum had trials earlier this year at Belgian side Club Brugge but failed to make a move.
