Ghana forward Latif Atta Blessing says he joined Sporting Kansas City to win trophies following his extra time brace against FC Dallas in the US Open Cup.

The nimble-footed forward won the man of the match accolade in Sporting Kansas City 3-0 victory over FC Dallas in the quarter finals of the US Open Cup at the Children's Mercy Park on Tuesday evening.

In the wake of the match, the ex-Liberty Professionals king-pin reiterated his desire to lay his hands on a silverware with the Wizards at the end of the ongoing season.

"I’m very happy,” the 20-year-old told reporters.

“I thank Benny; he just gave me the passes to score so I give the credit to Benny. We just worked hard for the team to move forward. We are here for the cup. I’m here for the cup. I just came from Ghana to win cups for Kansas City. I’m so happy to win today.”

Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, who is scouting for Ghanaian players in the Major League Soccer was in attendance when the former Ghana Premier League goal king torn FC Dallas apart.
