Ebusua Dwarfs head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed that he needed hungry and determined players to guide the sinking ship of the Cape Coast side from the claws of relegation.

He disclosed that upon taking over the team from veteran coach J.E Sarpong, he needed to make a few additions to the playing body to ensure they get the needed results.

Narteh who has guided the Crabs to 8th position on the league table after playing eleven matches with them says he needed to make a few additions to the side to change their fortunes.

The young tactician brought four new players to beef up the existing squad hence their drastic transformation.

“I needed players who were hungry to achieve something for themselves and not those who have already made their names,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“I knew that when they are put together, they will be able to make a huge impact.

“Dennis Nkrumah Korsah, Ebenezer Ackon and Stephen Bentil are students from the University of Cape Coast I knew could do a lot for Dwarfs.

“I also brought Alhaji Mustapha Faisal from Great Astronomers, a Division Two side and he has been fantastic.

“When I brought them, I told them they will be able to play better than most of the players in the Premier League and they are doing it,” he added.

Alhaji Mustapha has won two Most Valuable Player awards in their last four matches with Alhaji Mustapha, another player he promoted from the team’s junior ranks also winning the accolade in their last game.
