Former video analyst to Black Stars coach Avram Grant, Gerard Nus, has shockingly claimed that he was the first assistant coach of the team during the Israeli’s reign as head coach of the team.

The Ghana Football Association named Maxwell Konadu was the assistant to the Israeli boss when he was introduced as the boss of the Black Stars.

Konadu signed a contract to be the assistant coach of the Black Stars and throughout Avram's reign he sat in the dugout in places prescribed by FIFA and CAF during international matches.

While Konadu stayed on on all matches including qualifiers, Nus was only brought in during tournaments when the backroom staff was boosted.

Yet Nus claims he was the direct assistant to Avram Grant with Maxwell Konadu being the second deputy of the Stars team.

In an interview with Nhyira FM, Nus said “I was first assistant coach to Avram Grant not Maxwell Konadu. He was second assistant. I was not a video analyst”.

Since the departure of Avram Grant, Konadu was asked takeover as the caretaker boss even though Nus was available.
