Iago Aspas marked his 250th appearance for Celta Vigo with a hat trick as his side routed Las Palmas 5-2 despite going down to 10 men.

Aspas had not scored in Celta's previous two matches, despite them running in a total of seven goals against Girona and Eibar, but made it up in style at Estadio Gran Canaria.

After Emre Mor's 16th-minute opener, Aspas netted via a soft deflection off goalkeeper Leandro Chichizola and made it 3-0 with a smart finish early in the second half.

Celta keeper Ruben Blanco was dismissed after racing from his area and ploughing into Jonathan Calleri, but 38 minutes with a man down proved little problem for the visitors.

Pablo Hernandez grabbed a fourth before Aspas netted his first ever triple for the club on his landmark appearance.

At 5-0 Las Palmas looked down and out but they managed to end on a positive note, Vitolo and Loic Remy scoring in injury-time.
