Ghana football legend Abedi Pele was treated to a surprise birthday party upon arrival in Morocco on Thursday afternoon.

The three time African footballer of the year who is renowned for his exploits in leading French giants Marseille to winning their first and only UEFA Champions League trophy in 1993, had a call to attend an event from close pal Mohammed Aboukrika only to be met with a surprise birthday party upon arrival in Casablanca.

GHANAsoocernet.com can confirm that former Argentine football super star Diego Maradona and highly respected ex-Egyptian footballer Mohammed Abouktrika headline some high profile footballers who have gathered in Morocco.

Pele, who is father to Swansea City’s Andre Ayew and Aston Villa forward Jordan Ayew heads one of the world's truly footballing family with all his three children Rahim, Andre and Jordan all having been to a world cup before.

The 51-year-old is enjoying a good will with both Jordan and Andre Ayew grabbing the headlines week in and week out in the English Premier league.
