On-loan Bournemouth winger Christian Atsu says he is relaxed and not under pressure when playing for the Black Stars.

The talented player joined the Ghana national team in 2012 after excelling for Portuguese sides Rio Ave (on loan) and Porto.

Atsu has gone on to play in two Nations Cup finals and was named the Most Valuable Player at the last edition in Equatorial Guinea where Ghana lost in the final to Ivory Coast.

The 23-year-old was at the last FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.

Although travelling around for international matches is challenging, Atsu says he enjoys it.

“Playing in England and travelling thousands of miles for international duty with Ghana isn’t easy but I love it,” Atsu told the club’s official website.

“Every time I play for my country it’s an honour and I’m also able to play with a free mind. My team-mates have been friends of mine for a long time and I love being part of the squad.

“With games against Congo and Rwanda, my last trip was a good one and I was glad to get some playing time.”
