Immobile: Torino’s victory over Palermo was crucial

Goalscoring forward, Ciro Immobile, has stressed the importance of Torino’s 3-1 away victory over Palermo on Sunday.

Having recently experienced a considerable drop in form in Serie A, the Italian striker has claimed this result will restore the Granata’s confidence as they prepare to face Carpi next Sunday.

“It was an extremely important game,” said Immobile to Sky Sport Italia. “I am very happy with this victory.

“This demonstrates our return to form and I am also content with my brace.”

The 28-year-old has scored three domestic goals since his return to Turin in January, and he has since revealed his unrelenting desire to obtain a spot in Antonio Conte’s Italy squad.

“The Italy team is something I care about dearly,” he added. “I have always wanted to play for Italy and I will do everything in power to make it happen again.”
