In-form Ghanaian youth international Kwadwo Poku scored a stunning second-half brace to haunt Black Stars defender Harrison Afful on his official debut in the American top-flight as Columbus Crew succumbed to a 2-2 draw against New York City FC.

The 23-year-old once again kept his name in the headlines but at the expense of defender Harrison Afful who was playing his debut game in the American top-flight on Wednesday night in Ohio.

Poku, who has recently emerged with an impressive assist record in the Major League Soccer, bagged his third goal of the season from a David Villa Sanchez assist in the 57th minute to level a Kei Karama opener for Crew before putting the Etihad outfits in the lead six minutes after Afful had been replaced at the Columbus Crew Stadium.

Afful had been subbed by American Hector Jimenez in the 60th minute after showing flashes of brilliance and signs of good adaptability to the league and Poku logged his name on the score-sheet one more time.

The game was temporary abandoned due to bad weather but New York City FC held on to maintain their composure and end the tie with a priceless away point thanks to the double from the Ghanaian.

Afful and Poku showed national ties by exchanging jerseys at the final whistle.
