Asamoah is still struggling with the
thigh injury that affected his performance in the tournament in his home
country.
He travelled to Spain last week to see
an expert but the thigh seems not to be responding to treatment.
The striker says he is likely to be
out for two months if he doesn't recover by next week.
"We have tried several options
with this injury but it is still proving to be a headache," Asamoah told
Ghanasoccernet.
"I went to Spain to have some
treatment on it too and the doctors there say if I don't recover within two
weeks I might need two months to recover fully.
"I am not in a rush to return
because I want return fully fit so I can get back to my best."
The Udinese ace wasted no time in
taking a jab at radio presenter Kwame Sefa Kayi, who launched a scathing attack
on the striker during the Nations Cup.
The criticism of Asamoah's performance
during the tournament nearly forced Asamoah and his brother Baffour to walk-out
from the Black Stars.
He sarcastically said: "Hey - how
is Kwame Sefa Kayi. Please extend my greetings to him - eh."
The brothers were persuaded to back
down on their walk-out threat by their team-mates.
