Ghana midfielder Agyemang Badu has been ruled out for the rest of the season of the Italian Serie A season because of a knee injury, but he believes he will be available for Black Stars selection at the summer's World Cup.

The enforcer has been ruled out of action for at most three weeks after suffering the injury during their Serie A game at the weekend.

Tests carried out on Tuesday evening showed the extent of damage ruling out the player for between two to three weeks, his club Udinese have also confirmed.

Badu confirmed to Ghanasoccernet that he will miss the rest of the season but should be ready to play for the Black Stars at the tournament in South Africa next month.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac is not due to name his provisional squad until 11 May, though it seems likely the Serbian will include the enforcer who is not lacking in match practice. And Badu remains hopeful.

"At this moment the pain is reducing as treatment has already started," Badu told Ghanasoccernet.

"We are about six weeks before the start of the tournament so that gives me about three to four weeks to be fit for the World Cup.

Ghana will begin their camping for the World Cup in two weeks' time in France.
