Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has flown in renowned Serbian therapist Mariana Kovacevic to his UAE base to quicken his recovery from his latest injury.

The 28-year-old picked up a thigh injury while in action for Al Ain in their 3-1 win over Al Dhafra last Friday.

Gyan according to doctors of the UAE club is expected to be out for a period of seven days but reports to subsequently emerge suggests the ex Sunderland hitman could be out for nine weeks.

However, GHANAsoccernet.com sources close to the Black Stars captain have confirmed Gyan’s injury is not as serious as being speculated.

Gyan has however flown in Mariana Kovacevic to the UAE to help him recover quickly to enable him play in next Monday’s top league clash against rivals Al Ahli.

Kovacevic is a renowned for her effective horse placenta treatment used to accelerate the recovery of injured players and has previously treated the Ghana captain helping him to a speedy recovery.

She has worked with some of the top players in the world including Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Vincent Kompany.

Gyan has worked with the renowned Serbian healer on several occasions while on international duty.

She first worked with the Black Stars during the 2010 World Cup upon the recommendations of former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac.

Kovacevic returned to the side once more again during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and was again employed for the 2014 World Cup.
