Ghana international defender Daniel Opare missed Augsburg's 1-1 stalemate with Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga on Saturday due to injury.

The 24-year-old former Real Madrid Castilla defender collided with a team-mate at training on Tuesday and is expected to sit out for three weeks.

The medical team at the Fuggerstädter assessed the extent of the damage to the Ghanaian and have recommended he sits out for up to three weeks.

The former AshantiGold Academy product will have to wait to recover from injury before making his debut for Augsburg.

Opare signed a three-year-contract with Augsburg as replacement for Black Stars defender Baba Rahman who has joined Chelsea.
