Ghana have been handed an injury boost after Kwadwo Asamoah returned to the pitch  to score for Juventus in their 4-0 friendly win over Borgaro on Friday.

The 26-year-old endured an one hour duration of the game without pain to hand manager Massimiliano Allegri a massive boost ahead of the side’s home game against Bologna on Sunday.

The former Udinese man has not played for the Old Ladies since the UEFA Champions League 3-2 win over Olympiacos last year due to a recurrent knee problem.

But it appears the Ghana international has made steady progress in the treatment room after featuring for the Juventus side in the friendly exercise.

Asamoah’s ordeal appears to be over after turning on the heat in style in the 4-0 hammering of the lower-tier side.

He is now in contention for a place in the Juventus team ahead of Sunday’s Seria A game against Bologna at the Juventus Stadium in Torino.

The highly talented midfielder is expected to be left out of Ghana's squad for the international friendly against Canada on October 13 in Washington.
