Injury prone striker Fiamenyo ready to deliver at Hearts

Gilbert Fiamenyo is determined to shake off his injury problems at Hearts

By Patrick Akoto

Striker Gilbert Fiamenyo is confident he can shake off his injury problems to help Hearts win the Premier League crown next season.

The 22-year-old completed his move to the capital-based club after a three-year stay Heart of Lions.

Fiamenyo’s career at Lions was hampered by persistent injuries and there are fears the situation could derail his ability to operate at full strength at the local giants.

But the former Feyernord attacker is convinced he will pass the  fitness test to aid the campaign of the 2000 African champions.

“I have not trained since I got injured some few months ago. I still feel pains and so I am treating myself,” Fiamenyo told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“Officials of Hearts have understood me and given me enough time to treat myself. I believe I will be fit in the next month or so,”

“When I return I expect to struggle at training in the beginning,”

“But when I regained my full fitness, trust me I will explode for the club.”

Hearts have been progressing steadily in the transfer market with the acquisition Seth Owusu and Emmanuel Ansong from Medeama and Aduana Stars respectively.
