Inkoom and Boateng yet to join Ghana squad for Cape Verde friendly

Published on: 13 November 2012

Ukraine-based duo Samuel Inkoom and Derek Boateng are yet to arrive in the Ghana camp for Wednesday's international friendly against Cape Verde.

The FC Dnipro pair are among 20 players named by coach Kwesi Appiah to play the Tubarões Azuis of Cape Verde in a warm-up game in Lisbon for the 2013 Nations Cup.

The two are however expected to arrive in Lisbon on Tuesday morning and take part in the team's training session later in the evening at the match venue.

The Black Stars take on the 2013 AFCON minnows at the University of Lisbon Stadium on Wednesday.

Ghana thrashed Cape Verde 4-0 in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.

All these recycling of players must cease. Coach Appiah should get the core of team by now so as to ensure cohesion and communication in the team.

Correcto. I dont think Appiah is ready to build on cohesion at the moment. Lets wait and see

Akwasi Appiah has the nerve to drop Captain John Mensah and Quincy Abeyie and called up bench warmers? Somebody should tell me what's going on.

You are right. What surprises me is Quincy. Quincy lives in Portugal and our friendly match against Cape Verde is played in Portugal but the coach refused to call him up. What would you feel as a player, seeing your team mates traveled to your base but you are not part of them? Very, very painful.

We are watching Akwasi Appiah closely. He better do well in both friendlies and the tournament because he has many questions to answer.
