Chief Executive Officer of Inter Allies Delali Senaye explains they had to sell Baba Mensah to BK Hacken to avoid losing him on a free.

The 21-year-old completed a season-long loan move to the Swedish club on Monday.

Mensah is believed to have had one-year left to run on his current deal with Inter Allies.

And the club, in order to avoid losing the central defender for nothing in January when he can sign a pre-contract agreement as a free agent reluctantly accepted an offer from Hacken according to CEO Delali Senaye.

“The players have a season left on their contract and if you don’t let them go with six month left, you risk losing them for free,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“It is a difficult situation which requires a lot of tact to deal with.”

Baba Mensah played at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey and made his Black Stars debut in September when Ghana beat Congo in an international friendly.
