Inter Allies captain Joseph Aidoo says his side showed tremendous mental toughness to hold out and win 2-1 against Heart of Lions in Ghana Premier League on Saturday.

Goals from Sherif Deo Mohammed on the 28th minute and that of Yamoah Opoku Fredrick gave the Eleven is to one side a comfortable 2-0 score line in a one sided first half.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabians side however had to grind out the result after a spirited second half display from the visitors who had Baba Mensah pulling one back for them.

The goal gave Lions something to fight for and had Inter Allies fighting for their lives to pick up all three points.

Jospeh Aidoo who kept in a shift to ensure three points was secured on the day says the team showed remarkable character to secure all the points.

“We played very well and the team showed that we can hold on to win games,” Aidoo said

“We understand that sometimes the most important thing is that you pick up the points and the team showed that we can do that.”

“For me the team deserves credit for the way we played today.”

The win sends Inter Allies to 3rd on the league table with 39 points.
