Ghana U20 prospect Isaac Donkor might have missed his chance to impress manager Walter Mazzarri as he was forced to drop him out of his pre-season squad due to injury.

The 18-year-old Kumasi-born was primed to join the Nerazzurri pre-season tour of the United States after impressing Mazzarri during last season as he gatecrashed the first team squad to warm the bench five times.

However, a groin injury sustained just before the 18-time Scudetto winners flew to the USA, forced Mazzarri to drop the young center-back who appeared in their Uefa Europa League at a tender age of 17.

Donkor is currently training at Inter's Pinzolo Trentino Alto Adige under the instructions of a physical trainer as he nears full recovery.

Inter could loan out the defender to give him enough first team experience as they have signed consummate Serb central defender from Manchester United.
