Coach Simone Inzaghi has praised his side’s performance after his superior Lazio side beat Inter 2-0 in the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night.

Following their defeat to Sampdoria last Sunday, the resurgent Biancocelesti swatted aside a woeful Nerazzurri, with goals coming from Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva from the penalty spot.

“Yes it’s a nice win and it is well deserved,” said Inzaghi to Premium Sport. “We are happy because we bounced back from our defeat against Sampdoria, a game we did not deserve to lose.”

“Tonight we played a great game, I’m proud of my boys and we have to continue like this. We are working well on the training field right now and we should have won more games recently.

“We showed a great attitude tonight, a few players were doubts for the match but they showed desire tonight to play through the pain. ”

Inzaghi also praised the performance of Miroslav Klose, saying he would like the player to extend his contract for another season.

“I want him to stay but it does not just depend on me,” he concluded. “He has won us a lot of games recently, a champion like him can always make the difference. In the summer we will sit down with the club and discuss his situation. “
