Hearts of Oak starlet Isaac Mensah has objected to claims by Kotoko fans he dummied referee Agbovi to award him a penalty in Sunday's Super 2 clash against Asante Kotoko.

The 17-year-old stepped out of the dug-out at the Accra Sports Stadium to win a penalty for the Phobians which earned them a draw against bitterest-rivals Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko fans booed the center referee after the final whistle and made claims the decision was just to save Hearts of Oak the humiliation.

But the youngster who won the penalty has rejected the claims saying it was a genuine penalty.

"There was a complete body contact and he fouled me that is why the referee awarded the penalty. I'm very surprised they are saying it wasn't a penalty. For me it was perfect decision," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Hearts' squad was relatively young and inexperienced compared to what Kotoko paraded in the game but Mensah insists he went onto the pitch with no tension at all.

"I took it as a normal game. I didn't see anything extra with that," he added.

Kotoko fans threw missiles onto the pitch to register their displeasure about what they claim was a soft penalty.

Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Dramani also took time to slam referee Agbovi for his decision in the post-match presser.
