Isaac Opeele Boateng has been replaced as Ghana U17 assistant coach

By Rahman Osman

Former Wa All Stars head coach Nurudeen Ahmed has been appointed Ghana U17 assistant coach, replacing Isaac Opeele Boateng.

Opeele, former Asante Kotoko coach, was a victim of a shake-up after a disappointing campaign at the 2013 African Junior Championship in Morocco.

The Black Satellites failed to live up to expectations after failing to progress from the Group stage.

Ghana U17 management committee vice president Winfred Osei has defended the decision to sack Boateng.

“It is not about personnel. It’s just what is best for the team,” Osei told

“Whether I am there or not or Opeele is there or not the most important thing is that the team does well.

“The interest of the team is paramount and we are all channeling efforts towards getting the best out of the team.”

@papa Nkrumah why do expect him to criticised those mediocrity players knowing very well that he always seek after his stomach? I was really upset over his childish suggestion concerning Ghana taking supporters to brasil by ship.who doesn't know that ship is safer and cheaper than plan? Yet he was favouring plane simply bcos of his allegiance with the owner of African origin. Yet he pride himself saying he's nationalist. Siaakwa!!!

This dude knows nothing about coaching except bragging about his soo called football philosophy on asempa fm.This is a coach who favourite players are 'prince touch goal tagoe, fantastic inkoom, goal predator the soja Adiyiah and Lee the jet Addy as he used to call them. Its clear this dude is a stomach coach and prefer whack players. RIP the radio coach imao!

To be fair, we found ourselves in a very tough group with teams that were better prepared. Ivory coast and Nigeria who qualified from our group both went to the finals with ivory coast winning the African cup and Nigeria winning the world cup. My only problem with him is that he appears to accept mediocrity and doesn't criticise players much for non performance.

I said it, that man is not a coach you don't see him as such. His discussions are bias, he lacks brains and Ideas.. He doesn't even deserve to coach anybody not even munchangi. He really lack Ideas.
