President of Dreams FC Kurt Okraku says it is ‘insane’ for clubs to be asked not to sell players for financial gains.

Local clubs have increasingly set up in contemporary times to nurture talents for transfer purposes.

This is contrast to past practices where clubs derive pride from keeping their best players to win laurels.

The result has been in gradual eroding of quality materials to thrill local fans as players and club alike always look for the opportunity to move abroad in order to make more money.

The frequent sale of players was a policy that gained prominence during Dr K.K Sarpong’s reign at Asante Kotoko with his famous ‘to-ton’ adage.

Dreams FC President Kurt Okraku whose club produced Baba Abdul Rahman says he supports the buying and selling policy in order to balance the books of his club.

“I am a proponent of the ‘to-ton’ limited. If there is such an enterprise then I’ll gladly be the Deputy Chief Executive,” he told Kasapa FM.

“I think it is very much insane for one to invest in footballers, nurture them and not give them the opportunity to go and earn money and also earn money for your club and family.

“This is our business and therefore if there is such any enterprise then I’ll gladly be the deputy MD.”
