Italian giants Inter Milan target Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey

Italian giants Inter Milan have identified Ghana international Thomas Partey as a potential replacement for right back Joao Cancelo if he leaves in the summer. 

According to Gazzetto Dello Sport, Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi, Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo are all under consideration by Inter Milan with Cancelo's contract a year due.

The right back has 12 months left on his contract and could leave in the summer or at the end of next season for free.

Meanwhile, the former European Champions want to sign Thomas Partey, who is having a fine season with Athletico Madrid, and will be playing in the Europa finals with the Spanish side.

Partey in recents months has featured at the right back position and performed incredibly well. The Ghanaian has played 49 times for the "Rojiblancos" this season scoring five times in the process.

The 24 year old Ghanaian has previously been linked with moves to England, with Tottenham tipped to sign him.

However, the inform midfielder has stated he is happy at Athletico Madrids despite being linked with several to sides in Europe.

"I don't really read too much into what the media say regarding me moving, I leave that all to my management but of course everybody knows the English game is one of the best in the world," Thomas told The Independent.

"I have played in their stadiums twice already this season at Stamford Bridge and at the Emirates and I know how the atmosphere is but at the minute I am so happy in Madrid. I get to train under [Diego] Simeone and he trusts me so I can not ask more at the minute and I am enjoying my football in every game."
