Ghanaian midfielder Amidu Salifu could remain with Italian Serie B side Modena on basis at the end of the season after the club's sporting director hinted at plans to sign him from Fiorentina.

The 21-year-old Sunyani-born midfielder is on loan at the Stadio Alberto Braglia before the start of the season from Fiorentina and the Canarini are satisfied with his output for the season.

Though Salifu has not yet found the net in 20 appearances for Modena who are occupying a place below the mid-table zoe in the Serie B but club sporting director Joseph Cannella reveals there is a chance the midfield might stay at the club next season.

"I think he might return to Florence. Maybe we let him. He needs to grow and is getting better," he said.

Amidu spent last season at Catania where he managed just 4 starts out of 10 overall appearances but went down the pecking order to play in the Serie B where he is deemed impressive.

While Modena are pondering going in for the Ghanaian on permanent basis, Atalanta have also started making enquires about the availability of the midfielder for next season.
