It's fantastic to score on my debut- Rangers newboy Joe Dodoo

Joe Dodoo says he loves his new song and rewarded the Rangers fans with a goal on his debut that he believes will fill him full of confidence.

The Light Blues support chanted Dodoo’s name throughout Gers 3-0 BetFred Cup win over East Stirlingshire as the striker made his 60th minute bow.

The former Leicester City man pounced in stoppage time to round off the scoring and revealed he had a sneaky feeling he might grab a goal.

The 21-year-old said: "You always have to think you’re going to score as a striker; you have to think you are going to get a goal every time the ball comes over your head, you have to keep making the runs and hope the ball comes to you.

"You are off the mark, you are confident inside and looking forward to the next game and you can kick on from there.

"You must work hard for the team, get the goals and the wins will come to get us to where we want to get to.

"I feel like I’ve fitted right in, I still have to get to know my teammates because I am a little bit younger but it is a great start for me.

"It made no difference making my debut here [Ochilview] because the fans were just as loud as at Ibrox!

"You have to have the same mentality no matter where you are playing because that is part of the job."
