Kuala Lumpur: Jordan are the biggest Asian movers in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on Friday, while Japan continue to lead.

In the recent 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers, Jordan finished undefeated in a six-team Group A with fives wins. Their impressive performance has been rewarded by a clim of 66 places to 50th in the FIFA World Ranking.

Come next April, Jordan will square off against Asia’s best when they host the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup.

Despite not qualifying for next year's AFC Asian Women’s Cup, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s efforts during the qualifiers proved to be notable as they moved up to 55th overall.

Meanwhile, Japan remain Asia's highest ranked team in sixth place, with Australia following closely behind after the Matildas moved up one place to seventh. DPR Korea and China PR’s positions remained unchanged at tenth and 14th respectively.

Korea Republic, who finished second at the Cyprus Cup in March and overcame DPR Korea to qualify for the 2018 Women’s Asian Cup finals, climbed one position to 16th, to complete Asia’s top five.
