Jeffrey Schlupp: Leicester City steeled for Manchester City examination

Leicester City winger Jeff Schlupp spoke with a steely determination ahead of Saturday’s tough Barclays Premier League examination against Manchester City at King Power Stadium.

The Foxes find themselves bottom of the league table going into the game against the reigning champions, but having already toppled a big name from Manchester at home this season, they’ll be hoping to do the same.

Schlupp has starred for the Foxes on the left flank of late, and despite admitting that defeats to Queens Park Rangers, Liverpool and Aston Villa had taken their toll, there was an unerring sense of determination within the squad ahead of the match.

“I think we were obviously disappointed last week,” Schlupp told Foxes Player. “But again there were lots of positives in that game and we’ll certainly take them in the our game against Manchester City on Saturday.

“I think we all have to stick together, the players and the staff. We’ve got to look at the positives and move on. We’re all disappointed but at the end of the day we’ve got to look forward to our next game, which is against Manchester City.

“We’ve got to look forward to that and hopefully pick up a better result than last time.

“We’ve got to take the game to them. We can’t sit off them, we know they’re a good team and what they can do, but they’ll be battling for the win too to close the gap on Chelsea.

“We know how hard it’s going to be, but we can’t stay off them. We respect them, but that doesn’t mean we will let them play, so we’ll be in their faces, it will be hard work, but hopefully we can get the result.”
