Ghana international attacker Jeffrey Schlupp is enjoying a flying start to his 2015/16 English Premier League campaign as his Leicester City have gone on top of the league table following their 4-2 triumph over Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.

Schlupp, 22, held down his automatic start place in Claudio Ranieri's line-up and lasted the entire duration of the game at the King Power Stadium.

The German-born versatile attacker was booked in stoppage by referee Stephen Mason as hosts scored three goals in the first 30 minutes, with a deft Jamie Vardy header starting the scoring.

Riyad Mahrez then headed home before scoring from the spot after a Lee Cattermole foul on the Algerian.

Jermain Defoe gave the Black Cats hope but, after Marc Albrighton had struck for the Foxes, Steven Fletcher's late header was mere consolation.

Leicester will sit at the top of the table temporarily as title-holders Chelsea take on Andre Ayew's Swansea City in a late kick-off.

Giants Manchester United were made to work for a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Old Trafford.
