Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng has admitted he could leave the club this summer.

The German spent a year at Manchester City in the 2010-11 season but has spent the last seven seasons in Munich.

The 29-year-old has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football and has won an average of two trophies every year during his time at the Allianz Arena.

However, Boateng has alerted Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United by admitting he could leave Germany this summer.

‘‘Foreign counties are always interesting. You do not have many chances,’ Boateng told FourFourTwo.

‘Everyone has to decide for himself whether he wants to gain experience again.

‘I’m a different age now than I was at Manchester City and now at the point of thinking about it again.

‘Of course, it’s very difficult to get away from Bayern. That would not be a decision against Bayern, I’ve been feeling very well in Munich for years.

Jose Mourinho is expected to be handed a £150m budget this summer and will target a centre-back, a full-back and a central midfielder with his transfer kitty.
