Newly signed FK Sarajevo midfielder Joachim Adukor says leaving OFI Crete to join FK Sarajevo is a boost to his career.

The 24-year-old completed a two-year deal from Greek second-tier side OFI Crete on Tuesday as a free agent after ending his contract with the club.

Speaking after completing the move, the former Ghana youth international expressed his delight and says it is a step up in his development.

“I am very happy about coming to FK Sarajevo, this is a big club and I think this is a very good step for me. I am looking forward to the future in this club,” Adukor told the club's website.

Adukor had the opportunity already to do one training with the rest of the Sarajevo team. “The impressions from the first training are very good, and Sarajevo has a young and high-quality team with lots of talents, and I hope to make a contribution to the successful results of the club,” he added.

Adukor  has also previously played for Gefle IF in the Swedish top league and for Trofense in the Portugal Segunda Liga and AS Béziers in France

He was part of Ghana U23 national team for the qualifying games in the 2015 All African Games and the Olympic Games.
