Ghana defender John Boye has expressed his delight at his debut goal for French side Rennes and believes he can rake in few more to aid their cup surge.

The 24-year-old scored the second goal in Rennes’s 3-1 win over ten-man Valenciennes in the quarter-final of the Coupe de France  on Wednesday night and the ex-Heart of Lions central defender has not downplayed his goal scoring prowess.

“I was naturally delighted as it helped the team record an important victory,”Boye said

“If I could score more before the end of the season, I’ll be absolutely delighted.

“The team’s success is important and if we can win without me getting on the score sheet that would be fine because the team come first as always.

Boye has been on cloud nine at the French side this term following an impressive performance at the 2012 African Cup of Nations where he’s emerged as a huge target for some top clubs in Europe.
