Ghana defender John Mensah has been handed the no.20 shirt at Stade Rennes.
The ex Black Stars captain has been handed a short-term contract with an option to contract extension at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old completed his return to the French club earlier this week after training with the side for the past month.
He has been without a club since terminating his contract with Olympique Lyon at the end of last season.
Mensah’s inactive club career cost him a place in the Ghana squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
His short term acquisition is believed to be a contingency plan by Rennes who will be without fellow Ghanaian John Boye who is part of the Black Stars squad for the 2013 AFCON.
