Defender John Pantsil insists he will fight his way back into the Ghana squad to make an appearance at the 2014 World Cup.

The 32-year-old has joined South African second-tier side Santos FC as a free agent and is keen to work his form back.

The former Fulham man has been overlooked by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah for inactivity but after signing for Santos, Pantsil is eager to work his way back into the Black Stars squad for the 2014 World Cup.

“I am definitely happy to sign a contract here, the club is based in Cape Town so that is a fantastic thing," he said.

I really want to be at the top level before the World Cup and put in some performances for the Ghana manager so I can go to the World Cup.”

Ghana must beat Egypt on a better aggregate scores to qualify for the 2014 finals.

Pantsil has played in both of Ghana's last two appearances at the World Cup.
