John Pantsil out for six weeks after hamstring tear

Ghana defender John Pantsil is set for close to six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The right-back pulled a muscle during last Wednesday's semi-final clash against Burkina Faso in Nelspruit after only six minutes of action.

"He suffered a hamstring injury. We expect him to probably be out for up to six weeks with his hamstring," Ghana team doctor Baba Adams is quoted by the FA's official website.

Pantsil has been ruled of Ghana's third-place play-off at against Mali on Saturday.

His club Hapoel Tel Aviv will miss his services for their upcoming matches in the Israeli Premier League.
