Jomo Cosmos sweat on Ofosu Appiah fitness

Premier Soccer League side Jomo Cosmos have confirmed will be without the services of defender Ofosu Appiah when they play their next game against Black Leopards at the Giyani Stadium.

The Ghanaian defender, who is suffering with a troublesome knee, is back with the club’s medical team in the hope that they can fix the problem.

"Appiah is out for the game against Black Leopards due to injury,'' the club's spokesperson Lucky Mhlathe said.

Cosmos will need to field a strong team when they take on Leopards tonight, as they look to get a result against the resurgent Vladislav Heric-coached side.

Ezenkosi are the only PSL side yet to win a league game in the current 2011/12 campaign.

Failure to win against Leopards will add to the team’s pressure of maintaining their PSL status.

The club is lying at the bottom of the Absa Premiership table with just four points from 11 games.

Coach Jomo Sono brought in players like Appiah at the start of the season to boost the squad, however, the defender has battled to contribute to the team due to the niggling injury.
