Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is racing against time to be fit for Ghana’s game against Mali on Tuesday.
The centre-back over-stretched to slice a ball from striker Demba Ba just after the half hour mark.
He could not walk again and had to be helped off the pitch by members of Ghana’s technical team.
He was unable to train on Sunday evening though the swell around his leg has significantly reduced.
Team doctors are monitoring his improvement before making an affirmative decision on him.
If he fails to make it in time Denmark based Daniel Amartey is favorite to step in
