Defender Jonathan Mensah has been left out of Evian TG’s squad for their Ligue 2 clash against Tours on Friday having picked up an injury while playing for Ghana.

The 25-year-old was replaced early in the first half after suffering a suspected hamstring injury.

But Mensah allayed fears by insisting his substitution was only a precautionary measure as he felt ‘tired’ in his muscles.

The central defender has however been placed on the injury list on his return to his French club Evian.

Mensah alongside Fall, Nsikulu and Tejeda are all considered as unfit to play in Friday’s Ligue 2 clash at Tours and were thus left out of a 17-man squad.

The former Free State Stars man had only returned to first team action in the week leading to the international break having served a four-month ban for breaches in his transfer from Udinese to the French club back in 2011.

Evian have however not given details or extend of damage to the Ghana defender who is expected to make a swift return from his recent setback.
