Jonathan Mensah on the mend at Evian TG

Posted On Saturday, 7th April 2012

Jonathan Mensah has not played for Evian TG since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is battling a niggling thigh injury at French Ligue 1 side Evian Thonon-Gaillard.

The 21-year-old has not played for the debutants since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

A similar injury sidelined him for up to five weeks last year before leaving for international duty in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

He has been left out of the squad to play Rennes on Saturday at home.

Mensah moved from Granada to the promoted French side but centre-back has failed to achieve that objective.

He played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa and was a member of the Ghana U20 team that won the 2009 FIFA World Youth Championship.

READERS COMMENTS

  1. Jonathan Mensah should do well to seek spiritual help. This is because he one of the finest defenders in Ghana today but he’s been so unlucky with teams and injuries. I believe if he manages to break free from these problems, the sky will certainly be the limit.
Jonathan is even better than most defenders in the English Premiership yet he’s always struggling…

  4. Chu says:

He’s better paired with boye but must go for tackles with less power and more skill so as not to cause unnecessary fouls

He is my fav player. He is a very important player in the BS and must seek for spiritual help. He is far better than most of the players I know in Europe. This guy and Ransford Osei are struggling too much and I hate it. I am praying for them so much. The sky will be their limit.
